MAGGIE
Maggie is almost 11 years old now but still enjoys two off lead walks every day, she adores the fields, her doggy friends and the Cornish beaches we go to on holiday

Well Maggie found us really, she was just so perfect from the beginning.
So laid back, but a cheeky side too, she loved playing with balloons, teddies and quickly made friends with Fudge, my cousin's dog.
They would run around the garden, taking turns with their paw behind each others neck while they ran around.
I took her to training classes just to socialise her and to form a closer bond with her. She showed them all that greyhounds can learn to sit and then down and she really used to love going to school each week.
She never liked sitting on the gravel in the car park though when we were banned from the field because of rain. She did learn that she could go off her lead for a run as long as she came back for treats when I said.
Because Maggie was so docile and was helping my son who has autism, I decided to get her tested to become a Pets As Therapy dog. She passed with flying colours and we soon started volunteering at several primary schools where the children saw her as a celebrity.
She listened to them read as well as helping the speech and language group learn to speak with more confidence and even helping them with their maths. I did start taking her into a home for the elderly and she almost managed to make off with a ladies false teeth that had fallen into her lap when she had become so relaxed fussing Maggie, she'd fallen asleep! Mags clearly thought that they had something tasty still in them.

We welcomed Gemma, a tripaw, into our home for good at Christmas after walking her for an elderly lady for a few years her owner sadly passed away and we knew we had to have her. Maggie really seems to enjoy having a sister and the pair really love having joint sniffing sessions at the field or round the garden.
Life is never dull with our little family x
